I know his stickied schedule says he's in Washington DC, but he's now playing in Chicago @ Vision for Spundae/Godskitchen on Sept 4. It's a 21+ Venue.

ah!! i know, that's so f'd up...
i thought for sure he was at glow, and i *just* got the e-mail from spundae's list saying he'd be there the fourth; i was wondering when he'd play chicago, awwwwwwww bummer, i could have seen him three times that weekend if i'd known sooner :p
oh well! i'll be content with bleu and the guv, although one of my dearest friends ever lives in chitown and i like to go see him when i can :) HOWEVER, i really *don't* like vision... too damn many stairs, and not much room to dance beyond the main floor, which is always packed and too far away from the dj if you ask me ;)

Despite the poor choice in venue (they book Ferry at Vision instead of the new incredible club Sound Bar--a huge mistake), this show was ROCKING!! I have not seen Ferry play a better set. 4 Songs off of Right of Way I think. Closed at 5:15 am with Dance Valley Theme. Played some amazing techy tracks during the set that started at around 1am. I was so excited. He signed my vinyls and took a picture with me which I can try to post later. This was an absolutely amazing show. I hope he decides to come back to Chicago sooner than a year from now (which is the rumor). He danced a TON during the set, more than i've ever seen. He also took SEVERAL shots throughout the night and boozed it up like a Rock Star! (the upcoming pic is a reflection of that fact! ;) I can try to list tracks more specifically if anyone is curious. I also saw them videotaping this show....boy would I like a copy!!

I must say Soundbar is not better than Vision by any standards. SoundBar is cool its just not a place to see big name Djs, especially FERRY!! I was also in Detroit and let me tell you Vision is way better. Anyway Ferry was amazing, this was my 5th time seeing him and I havta say the best! Probably set of the year in my opinion. He was def. getting a little tispy at the end but it was awesome to see him interact so much, he looked like he was having a ball!!!
Tracks:
Rapid Eye- Absolute
Synesthesia-Ferry Corsten Remix
BT - Force Of Gravity (Ferry Corsten remake)
Ferry- Right of way
Ferry- Punk
Ferry- Rock your Body
Ferry- Its time
Ferry- Sweet Sorrow
Above and Beyond- No one on Earth(G&d remix)
Ernesto vs Bastian- Dark side of the moon (OMFG TUNE!)
Thats all I remember now but it did last over 4 hours!!
Ferry comes to Chicago like every 5-6 months but I did hear from him that it would be some time before he comes back
Ferry for #1

I have to politely disagree. I think Sound Bar is a fantastic place to see big name DJs.
If you have been to Sound Bar, then you have heard how amazing that sound system is. It is a truer sound than any club's sysetm produces in the entire city. The highs and mids are actually audible, not drowned out by the bass. There is literally a "surround sound" feel to it....which sometimes gets lost in that huge dome in Vision depending on where you're standing. After leaving Sound Bar, you walk away without ringing ears because of the way they designed that system, which is a good thing. If you are at a show to hear the music in it's most true form, then Sound Bar is the place to go...it may not have the "super-club" feel of Vision. But personally, I like the feeling of being literally "sourounded" by music, and could care less about the people clubbing next to me, or having the DJ hovering over me (which is why i always stand as close as possible to the dj booth at Vision). I like the feeling of being more connected to the performer, and I think that Sound Bar is better designed for that. I will say that Vision has a lot more room to dance though, which is always a plus! :) Just my two-cents.
I have to reiterate that I was EXTEMELY pleased with the whole production for Ferry's set in Chicago, everything sounded good. And I dug the cold fog too. ;) Does anyone know if that is new to Vision? That made for some interesting moments...

I too saw Ferry at Vison, i was stuck to the DJ booth all night! he rocked and he was the coolest Dj i have ever met, listen to this he was soooo cool that he let me into the DJ booth!!! if any of you saw a big dude in the booth between 3-4 am then that was me! also i am going to see him at Glow in DC in november, i was personally invited by the music director at for glow and Ferry's manager! it was SICK! they were all sooooo cool, as for Sound Bar i saw PVD there recently and i must say, the sound is the best i have ever heard, hands down! but it is set up too weird and long, not enough room on the dance floor, all we need to do is combine vision/soundbar/crobar into 1 club and that would rock!! i also agree with those cold fogger things, those were easily the coolest things ever!

I remember there was a website which they upload a live set video of famous DJ @ Division, I used to have Armin's set video of them. But I don't remember their name, maybe ATV?something like

Cold cloud = Kryo. That's what it's called. It's liquid nitrogen that's blown out of huge tanks in the form of the cold cloud.
About 3 out of every 4 DJs I know who have played at the SoundBar don't like it that much...this especially includes the bigger DJs. I dunno why, just what they have said.

fyi - the promoters are the ones who bring in the dj - so i can almost guarantee that ferry will continue to spin at vision for godskitchen
and i think that the people of the club are what makes the night - i can't stand sound bar because of all the guidos and non-music oriented people. i've had the worse experiences at sound bar and will not go to that club again, unless they bring in lawler or avb. there is so much attitude at that club - and its not all that IMO - it looks more like a hotel lobby - in fact the W Hotel lobby.
i've never had any problems with vision's sound - and neither have my friends that have gone - and believe me - we go almost every weekend - thus, i am a total biased reviewer :)
