OOOOHHHHHH Im so there!!! Tom - have you heard of a sickie??!! hehe i would quit my job to see Ferry!!! In fact... I DID!!! :p See you guys there!!!
Its not a job as such or anything I can call in sick, plus the moneys too good to quit. I play in a pub in Reading, only just started too and cant do the 10th as its my girlfriends birthday as it is.
Plus Ferr is in England a lot more than he is Perth, so I get a lot more opportunities to see him. Used to see him twice a month a few years ago. :(

Well, Swansea is in South Wales... about 200miles due west from London... straight along the M4.
Plymouth, on the South West coast of England, is even further away - over 200 miles!
Even further still is Newcastle-upon-tyne - almost 300 miles north!

Welcome Kel! :)
It seems there are a few of us off here who will be going to Turnmills... hopefully Ant will update the 'on tour' list! :D ;)

Ok the list has been updated folks.
Nev & Kel have been added so that takes us up to 7 so far. :D

What we'll probably do is all meet inside somewhere.all get somebodys number or whatever.
I'll be driving down after work and i'll be checking in to the hotel about 9:30ish.
Does anybody know Ferry's set times?
Hi again Ant, he's on 3-4.30am apparently...... can't wait
;)

;)
That can't be right he's on for 4 hours!
Sheila
09-08-2004, 01:09 PM
Damn right!!! I want four full hours baby!!! Lets hope thats just a mistake!
Probable Set Times
Room 1
Richard Mowbray 10:30 - 12:00
John Askew 12:00 - 01:30
Eddie Halliwell 01:30 - 03:30
Ferry Corsten 03:30 - 07:30
Or...
Richard Mowbray 10:30 - 12:00
Eddie Halliwell12:00 - 02:00
Ferry Corsten 02:00 - 06:00
John Askew 06:00 - 07:30
Although this one would conflict with the godskitchen times if they are correct.
Right, I've just spoke with Turnmills and although this website has it advertised as a 1 and a half hour set, he is DEFINATELY playing for 4 hours.
They don't know the set times yet but all headliners start after 12 o clock.
The latest anybody can be let in is about 3 hours b4 it shuts. So if you want to have a nap before you see Ferry then thats ok. I said would 3 o clock be a good time to come down and he said no problem.
The dress code is basically your standard decent club dress code. Basically no sports wear or team clothing wear. If its denim make it smart. And trainers are obviously ok. Just look smart basically.
If anybody wants any more info just let me know by here or msn (antsmith99@hotmail.com) and i'll find out for you.
Take it easy.
Ant :D

Good work ant! Looks like were in for a big night!!!!! What time did everybody want to meet up???
Not sure.
I'm driving down so depending on traffic etc i may have to meet separate. (you can organise a welcome party for me).
Hopefully we'll all be checked into the hotel etc in good time though so its probably best for me to meet you guys inside the club. I get one of your numbers or something then just text or ring when i'm in. :)

hi guys,
great to hear that so many of you will coming along to The Gallery next week to see Ferry!!
it'll be a wicked night for sure :D
i just wanted to let you know that ferry's set has unfortunately been reduced to 1.30 hours, possibly 2 hrs from 4 hrs. when our gallery ad/listings went to print, it was for a 4 hr set, but ferry will now be playing at godskitchen also and therefore we've had to reduce his set with us.
shame really :(
laters, stix.
Stix
I'm presuming that you work for Turnmils then. I rang your office recentley and the said definately 4 hours because if it wasn't they didn't have enough DJ's.
Also because of this would it be possible to post what time's he is playing. Is the info on this website correct? That he'll be playing 03:00 - 4:30?
Please advise
Cheers
Ant
hi ant,
i can wholeheartedly tell you that ferry will be playing 3 - 4.30am!!

No - this is ****ed up!
We are travelling down to see Ferry for 4 hours! If we had known he was only going to do 1.5 hours then we would have gone to Gods in Birmingham and saved on travel costs and a hotel room in London!
Not pleased...

I totally agree!!! I based my travels around this date as well because i wanted to see Ferry play for 4 hours!!! And Im coming from Oz!!! (OK fair enough i was already in the area, but that didnt happen by chance!!!) Im sure its not Ferrys fault, but surely they would have known he wasnt going to be playing for 4 hours sometime ago since it was already put in his agenda...This sucks!
But i still cant wait to see Ferry! :D
Wizbit
09-10-2004, 06:28 PM
This sucks!
yes - it sure does! :(
1. He's been booked in at Gods for weeks, so why are we only just finding out!? And why though this message board!?
2. Turnmills still have it advertised as a 4 hour set on their website and have made no announcement that I have seen.
3. I appreciate that things like his happen from time to time, but surely they should replace Ferry with another big-name DJ? All due respect to Alex Anderson and Riven, but they are unknown to me!
Sheila
09-10-2004, 06:34 PM
I agree...tho no other DJ could make up for Ferry :(
3 days to go! :D
We need to all plan how we're gonna meet up.
Suggestions people! :)
I'll be coming down a bit later on so I'll be meeting you inside but for everyone else i'd suggest a pre-club pub.

Guys did you see the news? Ferry isn't playing a 4 hour set anymore due to problems with set times with turnmills. His set time is 130-3
lol, read the thread... ;)

Haha oh Aveda you poor lost soul!!! hehe yeah its the only thing I think weve been whinging about the last week! Oh well Im just so happy Im gonna even see him again!!! And yes...whos organising the meet up...cos i sure aint! :p well i would if i knew the club...as long as its before ferry!!! (or after...just during his set i wont be moving from front centre! ;) )
once again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused ahead of 2moro night @ the gallery.
the reason why you may still see the night advertised (ie, mixmag) is because these ads were done 2 months ago, when ferry was due to play a 4 hour set. :(
but on the bright side.... it's still gonna be an amazing night. plus of course eddie halliwell and john aksew are also both playing, which will be wicked.

Well I had a great night as always! I was also disappointed with the 1.5 hours and so badly didnt want him to leave, but the boy has gotta do what hes gotta do i guess :( I didnt know some of the tracks he played, but Im so biased when it comes to Ferry, I honestly couldnt say he played bad :p I will admit, I have heard him play better, but I still enjoyed every minute of it last night!!! Was so great finally meeting some of you guys off the forum, just wish I could have got more pics of you guys before you left! Really looking forward to the next gig, which according to Ferry wont be till ages (after a few shows next week)!!! ARGH! I cant believe I came all the way here for one set!!! Its not like England has the best weather or anything...dilemmas I tell you! Now Im thinking about heading home again to catch him there! Decisions decisions  ;)

I didn't think Ferry's set was that bad. Agreed, I've heard him play better, but he did play a few tunes that I haven't heard before so it's cool that Ferry is not just playing the same stuff over and over.
The thing that I did think was poor was the actual club. Bad layout, too hot, and a quite a few idiots! Oh, and the other DJs were very average too. We had to listen to hours of boring drivel (was it even trance?!) before Ferry came on. Eddie Halliwell started well with his mash up of DK8's Murder Was The Bass... but then went downhill fast. Not impressed! :(
Was nice to finally meet Ant + Girlfriend and Shelia + Mike though! :D

Hey guys.
Nice to finally catch up with some of you guys. I'll agree it wasn't the best set ever but I think it would of been better if the club layout was better. I won't be in a hurry to go back to turnmills. Might just stick to good old godskitchen. :) I'd just like to say thanks to paul stix who arranged VIP entry and access to the VIP area for us. Ahhhhh, seats when you need them. Shame Ferry didn't come up for a drink but hey, driving down from birmingham probably would make you pretty tired.

None of the staff I spoke to knew anything about us being on the VIP guestlist. It was only when I met up with Ant after Ferry's set that we got to go up there.
To be honest, we won't be rushing back to Turnmills. Boring music (Except Ferry), bad layout, poor sound system and one of the worst DJ booth positions I have seen. Very uninvolving! :( Godskitchen and Passion are far superior, in my opinion. Sorry!
Sheila
09-22-2004, 12:32 AM
I hate to admit it, but I agree with Wizbit. I did not like turnmills at all! The only way I could see Ferry was by jumping on that tiny box, and because there were so many ppl on there i could barely dance! And being on the floor was worse cos there was no atmosphere at all. The only way im coming back there is to see Ferry, but I will be heading to GK on friday to see armin instead of turnmills!
I also had problems with the staff having no idea what the guest list thing was about! And Rock Your Body wasnt last...it was It's Time! He always does that song last ;)
I agree with you guys. All credit to Paul though he did manage to get us VIP access, (even if it only was later on for you guys).
I do agree with the other guys though Paul, the layout isn't as superior as godskitchen or passion. Although I didn't venture into the other rooms, where ferry was playing seemed too small. DJ booth doesn't look very comfortable either. I won't say no to going back just yet though as the VIP area was a welcome place for a sit down. :)
