Week 13 : System F featuring Marc Almond - Soul On Soul
Early March 2001 the ‘Tsunami’ label released the 3rd single of Ferry Corsten under his ‘System F’ alias. After ‘Out Of The Blue’ and ‘Cry’ it was time for a track called ‘Soul On Soul’. For this one Ferry worked together with vocalist Marc Almond. Marc Almond is a British singer / songwriter who was very successful in the 80’s with his group ‘Soft Cell’. I’m sure almost everybody knows their track ‘Tainted Love’. Solo Marc Almond also had a few hit singles such as ‘Something’s Gotten Hold Of My Heart’ and ‘Tears Run Rings’. For ‘Soul On Soul’ Marc not only did sing the vocals, he also wrote the lyrics for it. The guitar part in the track was done by Dutch guitar player Bert Meulendijk and Ferry – of course - took care of the production of the track.
Besides the album version of ‘Soul On Soul’ (for the ‘Out Of The Blue’ album), Ferry also made a slightly different version for the single release. People such as Kaycee, Bart Claessen (Barthezz), Thomas Schumacher (Elektrochemie LK) and Michel Amato (The Hacker) took care of the remixes of the track.
On March 9, 2001 the vinyl was released on the famous ‘Tsunami’ imprint.
