I've had this discussion before but now there's an actual Ferry Corsten Forum and we get the man himself online from time to time I thought I'd ask.

I've seen him DJing with the Pioneer HDJ1000's and the Sony MDRV700's. What I'd like to know is does he have a preference for a particular brand or does he just swap and change? I mayself have never used the HDJ's but I do own the Sony's and I think they're top notch.

How about you guys? Whats your headphones/opinions on them?

Ant :D

Ant,

I'm normally using the Pioneer headphones because I like them a lot! The reason why I use Sony sometimes is that, after a lot of gigs, my headphones brake down, I loose them or forget them (sorry, I'm a bit messy sometimes :o ). But when that happens when I'm on tour, I need headphones no matter what. Sometimes they have run out of Pioneer in the shop I buy them and then the Sonyheadphone come closed...
That's why you see me with Sony sometimes...

Well there you go then. :)

I hope mine don't break down as often as yours. It's alright for you superstar dj type people... ;) j/k

When they do though i'll give the pioneers a whirl.

Cheers

what about the Stanton DJ Pro 2000 S?
I'm planning to buy them to replace my Sony MDRV500 headphones

or I should get the Pro 3000
but they look exactly like the MDRV700 (I don't like copies of the original sony)....

i really like the beyerdynamic DT 770 pro's and ultrasone HFI2000G's
theyre both super comfortable and sound amazing u cant find anything better for in the studio or just listening to tunes at home with out dishing out another $1000.

i dont own a pair of the sony's or pioneers but have tried both and they both sound and feel pretty much the same to me... but ive heard from alot of ppl that the sony's break quite easily.

Well Ferry but why exactly did you choose the pioneer?? I've used some different headphones till now... but not the pioneer...

The stantom pro dj 2000 (the one that tiesto uses) has too much noise from outside I think....

The sony mdj700 is quite good!! But i stick with Sennheiser specially the HD25 and HD20 SP! very comfortable, less weight. no sounds from outside etc... etc...
