Week 31 : De Bos - On The Run (Pulp Victim's Remake)
Dutch producer / remixer André van den Bosch already started at an early age with producing electronic dance music. He released tracks under aliases like ‘Freakyman’, ‘The Difference’ and ‘Tony Walker’. And together with Ferry Corsten he was behind the ‘Soundcheck’ project. But André’s most famous and successful solo project is his ‘De Bos’ project. In the year 1997 the Dutch label ‘Playground Productions’ (by Raz Nitzan) released the ‘On The Run EP’ under André’s ‘De Bos’ name. This EP had 4 tracks on it and the title track of it was called ‘On The Run’. This club house track had a high (little bit annoying) pulse sound in it. It did very well in the clubs and on the dance floors. Because of this the record company decided to re-release the track as a separate release with a few new remixes on it. Big names like Vincent de Moor, Marcel Hol (Hole In One) and Ferry Corsten made their own versions of ‘On The Run’. When Raz Nitzan called up Ferry and asked him if he wanted to do a remix, Ferry found out that it was André van den Bosch who was behind the track. Funny thing is that Ferry and André were both in the same class during highschool. So Ferry made a remix of ‘On The Run’ under his ‘Pulp Victim’ alias. After the vinyl release a CD release followed and the track became a huge success in the various dance charts around the world.
In 2002 the track was re-released with new remixes. The title of the track changed a bit and there was also an addition to the artist name, so it became ‘De Bos vs Supersonic – Running Again’. In 2005 the original version of ‘On The Run’ was re-released as well with some brand new and harder remixes. But it didn’t became such a success as the original version of 1997.
