I've been to every Ferry Corsten event held in Toronto...Everytimes hes come has been an ABSOLUTE BLAST! He has Rocked this spot since 2000 and I dont think he will stop. Last time he was at the Guvernment he took the crowd by TOTAL surprise and dropped and AMAZING 8 hour set! WOW! Nothing like it...I kept looking at my watch and being like "Holy ****!...Hes NEVER gonna stop" no one knew he was gonna rock that place for 8 hours...I wonder if he knew?

I seen him that night on my way to the bathroom...he was on his way to the DJ booth and I tapped him on the shoulder and he looked back and I believe he recognized me...we've met quite a few times and I'm always in the front of wherever hes spinning...he gave me a pleasent "hey man how are you?" and I wished him luck...after that...8 hours of madness!!! Amazing! Anyone else seen Ferry at the Guvernment/Kool Haus in Toronto

Does anyone have any idea what is happening with Labour of Love weekend in Toronto for this year? I know that Ferry, Digweed, Deep Dish and others will be in Montréal on the 5th, the day that the Guv traditionally holds the end of summer party.

Are any of these names coming to Toronto the night before or are they taking a jet after the Guv and flying to Montréal later on the Sunday (or Monday morning)?

I was at the March gig and I had no idea he was staying for 8 hours!!! I left after 5h45mins when Ferry was on the PA saying, "Toronto, you are GUVERNMENT" I know he said he'd be back, but I wanna confirm this!!! :D

It was the most massive set ever of Sir Corsten... holy ****! Guv is a great club, not what we have here in NL anymore... :(

Cheers Jay!

Hey matey!!!:D

Hell yeah MASSIVE time! Made it even better since you travelled all the way from the Netherlands and the first day you're in town...Ferry is playing at the GUV. What a way to start of your trip!:D

no clubs like that in d-town, either... luckily it's only a 4 hour drive!!

I LOVE THE GUV. there is a group of us from detroitclubscene.com plotting to head out to this... but nothing has been set yet. i definitely want to go if i can afford it ( :( ) this year.

if i make it out, i'll probably stay cheap (hostel) and i will be down for pre-party with friendly canadians!!! ^_^

You think Detroit is bad Cyn? You should try Cleveland. The one good club we have has a shitty promoter and only gets local acts now. The club that DOES get all the big names has a terrible sound system, is tiny and has a really poor excuse for visual effects. It makes Bleu look like the Guv. So that makes Bleu worth the 3 hour drive. Toronto is 5 1/2 :(

maybe... but, i'd like to point out that moda stole (outbid bleu) ferry from us last november

... lol, i harassed him about it at the chicago show that month :p

when i first heard he was coming to bleu in march, i refused to believe the promoters until they told me that the contract had been signed :D

Here's a sneak-peek of how things are going to unfold in the KH... Please remember, nothing is set in stone, I'm not a promoter or anything but this is what is most likely to happen in the KH:

Mark Oliver 10:00 - 00:00
Ferry Corsten 00:00 - 03:00 <---
Nu-NRG (Live) 03:00 - 04:00
Infusion (Live 04:00 - 05:00
Dave Clarke 05:00 - Close

I'm not sure about the set lengths for the PAs but I'm sure everyone will exceed their timeslot. I don't know about Ferry since he'll be taking a jet so he might be restricted in that sense.

Now, this begs the question, what is his set time at the Bell Centre? :D

well, at least it's 3 hrs of good music  although i very much envy the people going to the montreal show, i think that show is going to be amazing!

i'd rather see ferry as a closer, heh. but this will have it's advantages; i'm introducing someone to the guv, so after i can take them to skybar, the drink, etc...

Three hours of Ferry is good, but It's the best when Ferry closes the guv. He just rocks that place, and wont stop playing till the security gaurds get pissed off! It's amazing everytime, he gets ahold of the crowd and just goes off!

If yea read this Ferry, Were bringing the FLAG for yea again!

Just a heads up, Ferry is scheduled to play in MTL from 6 - 8am. What this means is the chances of Ferry having a longer set in Toronto is much more probable than before when the preliminary CREAM line-up was done. Ferry was slated as the 4th of 6 earlier but now he's been moved to the 5th spot.

This goes back to my point of Ferry having a "prime-time" slot in the Kool Haus. So the bottom line is, TO will probably have a longer set

The main reason why I'm going to MTL is because I KNOW the Guv/KH will be a sardine can. And since Ferry is relatively early rather than later like last year when most people had cleared out by the time he got on, I can't say the same will happen this year.

So you're right cynaesthesia, it does have it's advantages, but make sure you bring a CAN OPENER!!! ;)

:D yes, quite familiar with the cattle round-up that is labour of love... lol. but i have a simple solution to that: i park my ass front row in kool haus a good hour before he comes on, and i don't leave til he leaves the building :p

hahaha. it works well for me. i PROMISE you i will be right up front :D so if any of you want to come say hi, i'll be the chick with dark hair, a turquoise and black top and most likely platform sneakers. believe me when i say i'm impossible to miss!

I'M SO EXCITED!!! :D

p.s. a bunch of us from detroit (a good 50 people from detroitclubscene.com) are going to this, and we are all meeting in the Toula Bar in the westin harbour castle (where most of us are staying) at around 9pm... if you'd like to come say hi to a bunch of trance-loving detroiters (we are a rare breed!) lol

this goes for everyone!!! although if anyone wants, i woudn't mind meeting up earlier, i want to get into the guv before it's too packed!

Exelent, my bro was laughing at me cus I really wanted to go and he was in the area, but didn't bother to stop in... the f***er, lol. O well, I really hope I'll get my chance to see him / spin at the same venu as him someday :)
I'm even looking at sending a few demos to Moonshine to see if I could get a spot on one of their tours in the upcomming years. :) That would really be nice. :)

Ferry absolutely tore it up that night the energy from him to the crowd was on like I have never seen before from a DJ at the Guv or anywhere else for that matter.
He once again proved that his popularity ruled, later that year in September 2004 for Labour of Love, what a set.

Ferry Corsten........TORONTO LOVES YOU!! Please come back soon!!
