Hi,
I just joined the forum.
I love Ferry's music ever since he was mostly hanging around Asia and his music came over every now and then. It was hard to keep up with all the different names he used.
I have seen him a couple of times life. The best I can remember was when he was the mainstage event on Innercity 1999 (Amsterdam - 40.000 people) and opened with Airwave by Rank1. Never forget it.
I believe he also played a proto vinyl of a remix of U2's New years day, which he played during that set.
I like his trance productions best, like System F, Gouryella (LIGAYA!!!), Moonman and newer Sweet Sorrow, From the Heart.
In 2003 I moved from Holland to USA and live since April 04 in Chicago.
I missed his set ( :( sucks!!!) at Vision in Chicago on sept 4 because I was flying to Holland for work (After 1.5 years back home!!!). After seeing Armin and Tiesto there I was looking forward to Ferry's show.
Now I know he si touring around US, but not anymore this year to Chitown.
Any Ferry fans from around Chicago??

Hi,
not Chicago but Minneapolis. Ferry came here twice in the last year-- pretty amazing since there're no real big group of trance fanatics here. Last time was in March and he played an amazing set in a smaller, more intimate setting. It was an un-announced Wednesday night performance and Thursday morning was brutal at work but totally worth it.
Chicago should be getting some decent shows-- even we got Tiesto this summer (don't like him too much anymore though as he's turning into a self-absorbed prick).
Anyway, it's good to hear there're some trance fans in Midwest :-)
Drop me an MSM one of those days!

Mmmm, Ferry in Chicago! Sounds tempting but the following things might happen:
1. Snowstorm hits and I get stuck on the way there ( my car is built for speed and not the snow!)
2. I will still be tired from the night before (from a local trance NYE party) and not willing to drive for 5 , hmmm.. I mean 8 hours.
3. I say "forget it" and fly out to San. Fran to see Ferry at 1015 on New Year's Eve!
Oh the possibilities...

I'm a huge Ferry fan, one of I think 7 total, in the city of Milwaukee. I wish I could see Ferry at Vision, but I'm not 21 yet, and if I'm not mistaken, most of Vision's shows are 21+. I saw him in Columbus, OH last April (of all places) at the RedZone (18+), and it was a killer show. I'd go get a fake ID to see him at Vision, but I'll wait, since I'd rather not risk ruining clubs for people of age. Real big problem in Milwaukee. Fake IDs cause clubs to get shut down. Lemme know how it goes. :D

that is really, really cool of you, if i may say!! too many people think only of themselves. i commend you, and when you turn 21, come see ferry at vision and i'll buy you a drink :p
Hey Frank,
I'm from the Chicago landish area! I'm just barely 15 though so I have never seen Ferry live let alone any Djs live. There was that one all age freak fest in another state, can't remember exactly where, and I believe Ferry was there but I wasn't able to go

Actually in Sanfransico on December 31, after that Festival, he'll be in Spundae of SF. So he has two shows in one night. :)

Here's a little secret, maybe they do it at other clubs too, not sure,
but the doormen at Vision and @ Excalibur when they pinch someone
with a fake, they radio the name to the manager and your name gets
put on a list. I thought it was B.S. but a bartender friend of mine
says yup they do that.

i am in the northwest chicago suburbs.... i have seen ferry twice now, this past fall, like 3 months ago... and november 2003, with dj rap... i cant wait to see him on january 1st ! ! ! im bringing all of my friends...
How easy is it to determine if its fake or not (IDs)? What exactly are laser checks?

Vision does not scan your id at the door.
But....
Unless your "fake" is a REAL ILLINOIS ID (as in, no out of state id's-- real or fake)....you'll have no prayer of getting in. They card hard.

This is in reply to FRANK VORST. Yea man....Ferry fan here! I'm actually 26; almost 27 (i guess ancient for the clubs it seems already). I've seen Ferry numerous times---once in Europe and a few times in Miami and Chicago. I lived and travelled Europe for 7 months in early 1999 and that was what REALLY got me into trance/dance music. I'm a big fan of the Dutch Dj's....all of them----from Sander Kleinenberg, M.I.K.E, Tiesto, Van Buuren, and Ferry of course. I would have to say i enjoy Ferry's live sets best though....especially recently. I too am a big fan of his old stuff like Gouryella. Last time i saw him back in Spring i think i was talking to him and i told him---"dude, can you play some Gouryella??" He just smiled and 2 songs later slid some in there. NOW that was awesome. I don't know about everyone else but the CLASSICS are the best and i would love to just see a DJ go on tour just playing "THE CLASSICS" one time!!
SO Frank (and anyone else), i'm a huge fan and wish actually to find others like myself. The older i get the more my friends don't like going out to clubs anymore. Feel free to e-mail me at--- mkiverts@iit.edu
laters! (BTW---Ferry is scheduled to play Chicago (VISION) on JAN. 1st!!)

there are a ton of ferry fan's in chicago - most of the chicago TA's rave about him and several of them have traveled the states to see him - so i'm sure there will be a big turn-out for his gig on jan. 1 at vision.
please see the thread about the meet-up in this forum - hope to see some of you there!!!
oh yeah - it would be cool if ferry decided to drop by the meet-up ;)
