This has to be one of the best EDM festivals in the world and guys & gals we should organise something special for this festival. It is held over two days and the general idea is to sleep in a tent and apart from the DJs and the music, there are some ace attractions there like a free cinema so after the last set at night you can comfortably watch a movie and they have a theme park set in place and they have stalls to buy things from and much much more. Oh and for those of you who like that sort of thing then they have a lap dance bar lol.:)

I'm definately in, anyone else?

Here's the link for details and to buy tickets. Its well worth it.

I've done 3 globals in 03, 04 and i did the weekender in 05, missd it last year to do dance valley instead but i'm gonna go back this year....

No festival has tents that get the same atmosphere as the main global tent - it's incredible....

GLOBAL GATHERING UNAFFECTED BY RECENT WEATHER
Festival preparations continue as normal

We don't care what the weathermen say...

Well as we are sure you are all aware, the weather in the UK has been less than perfect, with Friday's floods causing untold havoc across the UK and our hearts go out to all affected. Stratford upon Avon has been a hive of media excitement with helicopters and film crews surveying the floods, but we are pleased to inform you that Global Gathering is in fact based 5 miles out of Stratford upon Avon at Long Marston Airfield. Thankfully the site has been completely unaffected by the floods and as airfields are not built on flood plains everything is looking great for this weekend!

Being local Stratford residents ourselves we can safely inform you that as quickly as the flood waters rose they are now subsiding leaving transport links unaffected and moving smoothly so Global Gathering looks set to be yet another record breaking fabulous weekend!

On behalf of all Stratford businesses we would like to take the time to say that the media invasion has been over hyped and the surrounding areas have been affected worse than the historical tourist attraction of Stratford upon Avon.

Stratford town centre has been open and running for business over the entire weekend with minimal disruption apart from the scaremongering from the media. Thanks Sky News.....and the idiot who called the BBC to say Global Gathering was cancelled...it is NOT and will go ahead as planned.

The event headliners Faithless and Basement Jaxx alongside 150 of the biggest and best DJ talent on the planet are all geared up for the festival event of the Summer. One of the festival organisers, James Algate says, “We are once again expecting over 50,000 people to have the weekend of their lives. We also wish to reassure ticketholders that after being on site for the past week, the airfield and traffic routes are totally unaffected by the recent floods. Despite bad weather our customers have already been calling into the office saying that they are determined to enjoy the weekend and that really shows the affection the ticket holders have for the biggest dance event in the world. Those that have been spreading erroneous rumours should find something more constructive to do with their time...perhaps helping the people that have actually been affected by the weather!"

Global Gathering was ok, PVD was really outstanding, check his Essential Mix. Only heard the first track of Ferry cause we had to go back to the car cause the flight was at 6:00. Soundsystem was horrible, in the front you only heard the monitors from the DJ so if he decided to turn it off, barely any sound. Good thing was that PVD barely didn't touced the volume of the monitors but banged it out loud ;)

I have too agree with freezel, it wasn't the best global i ever been too and PVD was pretty awesome!

It didn't start off to great as we got put in a car park half an hours walk from the site. We started off at the radio 1 stage for David Guetta and Morillo but wasn't overly impressed by there sets. So on to the gods tent where things brightened up with Schulz, Armin, PVD and Ferry! Although there where a few mishaps than usual especially when the sound went down on PVD's set due to three people climbing the lighting and sound rig. It did get one of the biggest cheers of the night when one of them fell though!

Ferry also had his own problems when the master volume cut out about 20 mins into his set for a couple of mins. Not quite sure what happen there but he wasn't aware of this straight away cause the monitors were still going strong. He had quite a few conversations with the sound engineer who seemed to be getting on his nerves to begin with but it all ended in smiles!
