View Full Version : Ferry Corsten and Dance Valley nominated for the international DJ Awards in Ibiza!

The annual DJ Awards in Ibiza is celebrating its tenth anniversary as one of the world's most prestigious dance music awards. On September 27th,superclub Pacha - on the ultimate party island of Ibiza - will host this year's edition. Some of the international greats who have been honoured with the coveted awards include Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Danny Tenaglia, David Morales, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Frankie Knuckles and Paul Oakenfold; more awards will be bestowed in just a few short months.

UDC is extremely honoured that Dance Valley, one of the Netherlands' oldest and most influential dance festivals, has been nominated in the category of 'Best International Dance Festival'. This nomination confirms the fact that Dance Valley still commands respect and appreciation from the international dance world. Direct competitors in this category are British festivals Bestival and Global Gathering, Spanish Monearos and American Ultra. Awards will be presented in the following categories on September 27th: house, techno, trance, tech-house/ progressive, newcomer, breakthrough, Ibiza DJ, urban DJ, Ibiza bar, electro, international festival and special awards.

According to insiders, Dance Valley stands rather a good chance to win the award, thanks to the successful edition held last 14 July. Thanks in part to the festival theme, the strong programme, amazing production and dry weather, Dance Valley 2007 experienced the best edition in years, and the outdoor event near enough reached its maximal visitor capacity. True to tradition, the festival attracted visitors from around the world, and is highly esteemed in places as diverse as England, Asia, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Scotland and the former Eastern Bloc.

One of the Dance Valley 2007 highlights has undoubtedly been the performance by the world-famous Rotterdammer, Ferry Corsten. Ferry is the number six DJ in the world according to DJ Mag Top 100, and he has not only taken it upon himself to mix the double CD of Dance Valley 2007, but he will also host a dazzling party in the Rotterdam Ahoy stadium on October 27th. The producer of the hits ‘Beautiful’, ‘Punk’, ‘Rock Your Body Rock’, ‘Gouryella’ and ‘Out Of The Blue’ has a realistic chance to break into the world’s top three list in 2007.

With the title ‘Full On Ferry’ and subtitled ‘Masquerade’ , Ferry and his musical colleagues Christopher Lawrence, Erick E, Fedde Le Grand, Secret Cinema vs. Groove Yard, Dogzilla and Breakfast will serve up an unparalleled show and take his guests on a fascinating journey through an ever-changing and overwhelming musical landscape. Ferry Corsten has again been nominated for an award in the category 'Trance' in Ibiza.

Naturally, the Dutch dance fans can cast a vote for their favourite on the website www.djawards.com (the direct link to the election page is: http://www.djawards.com/votaciones/index.php ). Voting is open until 12 August via e-mail and text message. As this year, the organisers of the DJ Awards are co-operating closely with the Dutch organisation Dance4life.com, the awards also help bring attention to the worldwide problem of HIV and AIDS among young people.
