TIËSTO & FERRY CORSTEN WRITE DANCE HISTORY TOGETHER AT THE DANCE VALLEY FESTIVAL!

Purmerend, 25 June 2008 - Ferry Corsten will close out his own Flashover Recordings Stage at the Dance Valley festival with none other than Tiësto. This historic event will take place in the Second Valley at Dance Valley.

San Francisco, 24 May 2008. Due to a serious power failure, the ETD POP Festival died a sudden death, just at the moment that the public had reached a state of ecstasy after an amazing set by Ferry Corsten and the first tracks of Tiësto’s final set had begun to boom through the venue. One club that still had power was the Ruby Skye, which was filled to capacity as Ferry Corsten turned the tables at the official ETD POP afterparty.

Tiësto, still full of energy after his incomplete set earlier that evening, decided to stop in on his good friend and colleague Ferry. Ferry immediately pulled him into the DJ booth to continue turning in a back-to-back set. The audience at Ruby Skye instantly felt that dance history was being written that night. Years after Ferry and Tiësto had entered the history books under names such as Gouryella, with their tracks Gouryella and Walhalla, they were again turning tables together for a public that completely blew its top. You can see the proof here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQU-4DdeLQE&NR=1

Not only the public enjoyed the set; Tiësto and Ferry also had a great time. That same evening they decided that they were going to do it again soon.

The perfect venue? Dance Valley Festival! Here Ferry has his own immense open-air stage for Flashover Recordings in the legendary Second Valley, which is returning for the first time since 2002. Although this means that Tiësto is giving up his place on the Dance Valley Main Stage, UDC couldn’t let such a unique opportunity go to waste.

After their first spontaneous session in San Francisco, the party people in Spaarnwoude will also be able to enjoy a complete back-to-back set by Ferry Corsten and Tiësto. Two men who are not only among the best DJs ever to come from the Netherlands, but are also two old friends who would rather do nothing more than to share their music with the public.

The event organiser UDC is especially proud to add this unique occasion to the already overfull programme for Dance Valley.

Dance Valley Festival 2008 will take place this year on Saturday, 12 July.
Tickets are available online via www.udc.nl, www.dancevalley.com and www.ticketservice.nl.
Tickets are also available at all Midtown and Free Record Shop locations.

Another crazy trip for me!

I don't post often on this forum, but when I do you can be sure it is because there's a reason.

This time the reason is that yesterday I received the newsletter about the set of Ferry & Tijs
and today I've bought two tickets and booked two seats on a plane (for me and a friend) to Spaarnwoud!

I won't have my lucky hat this time (I'm so sorry I lost it), but I hope to come home with something better... who knows :P

Any other mad around that does a similar voyage just for one night? (we'll return on sunday!!!)

I hope I'll meet some there of you just to have more fun all together ;)

see ya!

Aww you guys, I threw the sun too hard the other day. Now it's raining here and there and all over the place. heh
Still, enjoy yourselves tomorrow.

Good luck with the weather guys! Meteo Consult says it's going to be really rainy in the Amsterdam area...

fortunately, we will have a roof above our heads

EDIT: You guys are LUCKY!!! :p (Same thing as me and the Norwegians during DefQon... beautiful weather all along!)

It was a great party... it didn't rain too much but from all the down pour we had during the week left the grounds pretty damn muddy. I think most of us are just going to throw away the shoes we wore! It is easier than trying to clean them!

Ferry & Tiesto were just awesome. It was really so cool to see them both up there and I loved the visuals they had and the way they integrated Ferry's and Tiesto's logo's while they played. They played a classic set which was just !!! I didn't know what to expect but when I think about it now, they couldn't really not play a classic set :p

Apart from the mud was a great day, really good seeing so many familar faces as well as meeting new ones. Really can't be assed going into a review... the only thing I have to say is that the crowd were very disappointing at the Flashover stage. I dunno if Ferry or Tiesto noticed it, but no one was dancing at all. I think Eve and I were the only ones screaming our lungs out! Hahaha! People just stood there, no one cheered or anything. Never seen anything like it! Shame, I still had a good time though! :)

I'm going to do a little experiment today and put them in my washing machine

Btw awesome sets indeed! Had a great time and Ferry and Tijs obviously did too. I took so many pics it will take me some time to sort them out but will post a few later.

Yeah you can put them into a 'kussensloop' (don't know the english name) and put them in the washing machine. That way they won't be damaged.

But Dance Valley was so damn awesome! So many great tracks, a great personal set by Ferry and Tiesto and their back2back classics set was simply amazing. I've seen alot of people dancing, screaming and jumping though. But indeed at certain places the people didn't really move, but I think that was because of the mud.. Really hard to stay on your feet there!

Pillow case could be a good translation for it ;)

Sheila
07-13-2008, 05:50 PM
Ohh really? Mike put his shoes in the washing machine once and they have been warped ever since! Haha! I didn't think a pillow case would make much of a difference though but might give it a go :)

Ok so maybe saying no one was dancing isn't a fair interpretation, but it almost felt like that and everyone around me would agree. We were right at the very front so maybe people at the back were a little more enthousiastic. But the crowd was pretty quiet I thought, especially considering Ferry and Tiesto were b2b. Maybe I am just too noisey :p

I always use it to clean my sneakers when they are really really dirty, and just normal cleaning won't help anymore. :)

But in the back and middle people were really enthousiastic. Wasn't it to crowded in the front to really dance? I've got some movies as well, so I'll upload these soon :)

I've already uploaded this one:

Face it, Holland just sucks when it comes to proper partying. We might have all the good DJ's and big events here, but I saw the same at AO in Utrecht and pretty much all other events: people standing still and chatting or just moving around a littlebit. Probably too afraid to sweat or get dirty clothes.

When I saw Armin in Australia ... pretty much the best crowd I've ever saw and been at. They sure know how to create a party! Suggest that Ferry and Tiesto to a B2B there as well ;)

They just go to parties to look at, or to be looked at... however, I got back from Black this morning, but I was surprised to see that the people really partied their ass off during the entire night. Lots of Aussies and Americans were there too, and they were very enthusiastic.

But maybe the people were tired... I can acknowledge that after 9 hours of Black, you only want to sit down ;)

No, it was full but not to the point where I couldn't move. And I hate people like that, I go out to have fun, not push people out of the way. How much space do you require to dance?! Though I am sure Amy can say that wasn't the case for the girl infront of her! Haha! :p
