Dutch DJs call on Clubbers to support the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) | Nov 14, 2013

DJs Ferry Corsten, Quintino, Blasterjaxx, Dennis Ruyer, Jacob van Hage, Marco V, Sandro Silva, Sied van Riel, Oliver Twizt will be playing to raise funds for the victims from the superstorm in the Philippines.

The Philippines has been greatly affected by the super storm and is in great need of clean water, shelter, food, and medical care. A benefit show on Wednesday November 20 has been set up in the club Panama in Amsterdam in order to raise funds. The proceeds of the event will be donated to the Dutch calamity fund GIRO 555. This account has been set up to receive funds from Dutch Nationals who wish to donate.

Ferry Corsten, the DJ who initiated this event has a close relationship to the Philippines: “It breaks my heart to see what has happened in the Philippines. My wife is Filipino, our daughter is half Filipino, and of course we have many family and friends who live there, who have been directly affected by the typhoon. Hundreds of thousands have lost everything and are in urgent need for help. This is why the benefit ‘Donate and Dance has been set up. We are so happy that so many DJs have reacted positively for this event and been able to set this up in a few days. Unfortunately, some DJs were out of the country so that they cannot be there for the evening, but many will be supporting our cause via their social media. We’ve already received financial donations for this cause. We have an amazing line up such as Quintino, Blasterjaxx, Dennis Ruyer, Jacob van Hage, Marco V, Sandro Silva, Sied van Riel, Oliver Twizt, and myself that will be playing on the evening. It is our hope that through this event we can influence others to show their support for the victims in their own way. ”

DJs for the Philippines #DonateAndDance is an event where top DJs from The Netherlands will be playing to help raise funds for GIRO 555. This initiative is meant to promote awareness and push people to donate for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan either through this event, directly through GIRO 555 or their desired non-profit organization, and/or in their own special way.
