The architect, pioneer, and instigator of trance music’s global dominance is at it again. Ferry Corsten drops his latest self-produced artist album Twice In A Blue Moon on January 27 via Ultra Records, as he gets ready to embark on his latest U.S. club tour.
Kicking off February 5 at Opera in Atlanta, the Dutch superstar DJ will head to Houston, Washington, DC, San Antonio and Dallas, TX before making his way to New Orleans to perform at Ampersand during this year’s Mardi Gras. Next up, Corsten will transform Tabu in Orlando and The Kennedy in Tampa before rounding out the tour with performances at The Roxy in Boston, Clutch Cargoes, Pontiac in Detroit and Webster Hall in New York.
Twice In A Blue Moon, has been widely anticipated by fans in the U.S. and has already received stunning reviews in the trance scene with his latest single “Radio Crash”, the first and only track Corsten incorporated into his sets as a preview before the release . The album is dedicated to the birth of his daughter Gabriella Skye and in reference to a very beautiful English rose as well as a rare full moon. Produced from a melodic point of view rather than an electro one as on his previous artist album L.E.F, the new 12-track album heralds the return of the king of trance and reflects the cool progression that trance has taken. According to Corsten, “I feel that the album is more like a story being told rather than a compilation of tracks”.
The international DJ has consistently been voted one of the top 10 DJs in the world (according to DJ Magazine’s definitive “Top 100 DJ” chart) for five years. And has played for hundreds of thousands of fans in amphitheaters, fields and nightclubs throughout the world and has even had his life’s work interpreted in music, video and décor at UDC’s Masquerade event at 12,000-capacity arena Ahoy in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The accomplished producer and remixer, who has remade the likes of Duran Duran, U2, Moby, and Public Enemy and can be heard on his Sirius XM Radio show “Corsten’s Countdown”.
